Geocache Description:





"American Baby"



This is our very first "Unknown-Night time" cache hide. And its a very weird one at that. It isn't a very long hike, and it should take less than one hour to complete. This is pretty much your typical night cache, but with a little bit of twist. There are specific requirements/suggestions for this one, these are:

1) This cache MUST be done in the dark.
2) You should pack good flashlights.
3) Wear some decent footwear.
4) Bring your observation skills.
5) Follow the 'directions'.
6) Cache at your own risk.

The listed coordinates above will take you to a small parking area. Once you arrive there, you must locate the start of the reflective markings, which can easily be seen with any flashlight. This is where your observation skills come in handy. You will follow these reflectors throughout the creepy, dark woods. This cache is placed on private property, with permission of the owner. There are alot of elevation changes throughout these woods. You will be switching from path to path, with some areas of travel which you will be off the trails.

Story has it that many years ago, back when Indians roamed through this area, they had settled in a large area of woods along the Nescopeck creek. While settled here, the Indians started to notice something. Alot of their supplies were going missing, one piece at a time. The Indians said that they spotted little infants amongst the trees and bushes. They said that they think that it was the infants, taking their supplies and supposedly hiding them in a protected hiding spot. The Chief had actually spotted the location, but was too affraid to approach the goods. He explained that there were no ways to retrieve the supplies, because it is protected by the, "American Baby". Being too affraid, the tribe had to just leave their goods and get out of there. They noted that the only way to get past this particular infant, the seeker of the goods must only come at night. It is at night when the guard, the American Baby, goes to sleep.

In order to find the goods you must follow the trail of the Indian Chief. And guess what, the Chief was nice enough to leave behind some tribal-reflectors.

Since I used one of my favorite containers on this one, I locked it down so it doesn't go missing, as most of my containers do. It is not locked for you, it can easily be opened and put back. So you do not need any keys or combinations to open the container. After trading items, please rehide as you found it. Thanks for caching with us, and I hope you enjoy "American Baby".
