Another cache brought to you by a member of the
Lakelands Area Geocachers
This is a two-stage multi-cache. This cache will take you to a
small city garden that is maintained by the Men's Garden Club of
Greenwood, SC. This park is a lovely area to relax, have a picnic
or just stop and smell the roses. This is a garden-themed cache
that is meant to allow visitors to enjoy a nice city garden and
perhaps take away an item to enhance their own "geo-garden" at
home. These coordinates will take you to a small city park that few
people ever take the time to walk around in and enjoy. It's
beautiful come spring/summer. The park is between two roads that
can be busy depending on the time of day. There is a gravel road
running along one side where visitors can drive/park. The terrain
is flat and grassy.
Once you get to the park, you will need to explore the garden to
gain the information for the final coordinates. Only counting and
simple math are required to find this cache, making it perfect for
first-time multi-cachers and children! The cache is fairly well
hidden. Please replace the cache as found and hide well.
To find the physical cache, compute the following:
The # of names of veterans listed on the war memorial monument
minus (-) the # of park benches = A
The # of park benches plus (+) the # of footbridges = B
The # of bird baths plus (+) the # of picnic tables = C
The # of arbors plus (+) the # of gazebos = D
The final coordinates are: N 34 11.7AB W 082 10.4CD
The cache originally contained:
1 pen
1 log book
1 blue pot
10 packets of seeds
1 bag of "mystery bulbs"
The original cache went missing and the original cache owner had
moved away. I adopted this cache because I love gardening and this
is one of my favorite places to take photographs.
The replacement cache contains the following:
16 month garden calendar
Flower bookmark
Snowman pot containing Basil seeds Pewter
flower bookmark
Scarecrow magnet
Wormie the water sensor
Flower bookplates
Flower post-it notes
I couldn't find any seed packets to add due to the season.
If you can, please exchange seeds or items for other
plant/garden-related items in this cache. It's ok if you can't and
trade something else instead, but the idea is to keep it as
garden-related as possible. Geocachers that get seeds from this
cache can plant their own "geo garden" and celebrate the wonderful
sites geocaching helps us to discover.
Hint is a spoiler!!!! Congrats to StomperSwamp as FTF!
