Kalama
Marine Park
Home of the
tallest Totem Pole in the world!
(one piece)
The
Marine Park is a five acre day-use park that is bordered by a
pedestrian/bicycle pathway along the Columbia River. Public
beaches accessed by this two-mile greenbelt are a favorite for
swimming, windsurfing and fishing. Port of Kalama have given
permission for a cache to be placed here. Covered picnic area,
playground, restrooms and really nice sunsets make this an ideal
stop to take a break from a drive on I-5. Bordering the park
is one of the west coasts top rated industrial ports. Impressive
cargo ships cruise by amazingly close to shore, and trains
rumble in the background. Coming here you'll find its an
interesting clash with old history of discovery and adventure,
embedded in this modern hub of commerce and
transportation.
Take
exit 30 if your southbound,
or exit 27 if your north
bound. Head toward the river and Hendrickson Dr.. The Marine
Park is midway between the 2 exits.
The coords
given above are for parking and where to begin looking for the

the final so you can get back on the road if your in a
hurry. Don't foget to snap a picture, its not everyday you get to
stand next to a world record!
