The second 2025 hiding theme: Back to nature! 🌲🍃

In 2025, we’re celebrating a major milestone—25 years of geocaching! To mark this special anniversary, we’re introducing a new hiding theme per quarter to celebrate geocaches published in 2025. Every three months, we’ll feature geocaches from the previous quarter’s theme on the Geocaching Blog and social media.

We’re leaping with joy at the number of nominations we received for the first theme, Frogs. While we compile a few favorites for the first feature, we wanted to share the excitement as we prepare for next quarter’s theme!

The second theme: Back to nature 🌲🍃

There are countless possibilities for what you can attach a container to, place a container under, or use to make a geocache. Be creative, but make sure to follow the geocache hiding guidelines.

Ways to participate:

  • Hide a geocache with a nature theme in 2025. Nominate your cache by completing this form between March 26 and June 5, 2025.
  • Find a geocache with a nature theme. Nominate the cache by completing this form between March 26 and June 5, 2025.
  • Share on Instagram: Post photos and tag @geocaching. Use the hashtag #GeoHT25 for a chance to be featured on our Instagram Stories.
