Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache that takes you around part of the island and introduces you to some excellent views. Dr Doc encourages you to take side trips to look at other things, ie Oliver Hill. You are best doing this with a bike which can be hired on the island as it is about 9km round trip and takes you around 1/4 of the island. Take water, sunscreen and a hat.

You should not need to go off a main path more than 50 metres and there are tracks leading to all waypoints. Be aware of snakes in hotter months. You will need to print out the clues, there are 6 waypoints in total 5 requiring a code cracker in your team.

Hope you enjoy your Rotto Experience.

Stick to the paths. All Waypoints are close the the main sealed paths.

The first way point is the starting point on the multi-cache. Read the plaque.

"Who named Rottenest on 30 Dec 1696?"

Use the surname to form an alphabet code to assist locate the second waypoint. The first letter of the surname equals 0, the second letter equals 1, third equals 2 and so-on. The last letter should equal 7.

Place the numbers (Code Numbers)on the 26 letter English alphabet under each letter. Now fill in the gaps with sequential numbers left to right using each code number as the starting number to bridge the gaps. You should be on the right track if B = 3 and Z = 4. Use the code to decipher Waypoint 2

Watch out for Muggles and camouflage the cache well.
