The twenty fourth cache by caughtatwork will find you in a lovely park with lots of amenities for young and old and now ... with a cache too.
Packer Park, located on Leila Rd, Carnegie has a veritable treasure trove of amenities.
A small lake with tadpoles and small fish.
A wonderful playground for the kids.
BBQ's galore.
Exeloos (modern, hygenic toilets for abled and disabled).
A Football / Cricket ground.
A Velodrome.
Concrete walking tracks around the gardens.
Some cricket nets.
A golf practice net.
How could this park be missing that one ingredient that adds to a park regardless of the features? Well, it doesn't now. Packer Park is now home to a geocache.
To find this cache will not be hard at all. You only need to use your GPSr to find the starting point, although if you can get to the playground on Leila Rd, you can even complete this without your GPSr. Just the ticket if you're passing by and your batteries are flat or you live around the area. Don't get too hung up on counting the concrete blocks. You'll know when you're there even if you miss one or two.
You should be right in front of a large spider's web at the children's playground.
Take a seat on the bench (if you can) and count the number of high button seats directly in front of you.
Call this number A.
Count the number of low button seats directly in front of you.
Call this number B.
C = (A X B) + A + B
Follow the path around the oval in a north easterly / northerly direction counting the number of concrete blocks until you reach the number C. You should be close to a structure.
Stand on the structure and count the number of round pieces of metal on one side of the structure.
Call this number D.
Walk in an easterley direction counting the number of concrete blocks until you reach the number D. Only count the concrete blocks on the far side of the structure.
Take a left turn here and walk until until you reach a silver spire.
You are looking for a 500ml camouflaged container which originally contained a splash ball, correction fluid, pencil sharpener, assorted animals, Queen Mary badge, big bubblemix, eraser, highlighter, finger freak, torch with battery, key clip, musical notes.
Please be aware of muggles as this park is rather popular and you may be spied when retrieving the cache. Take some kids along as cover.
We hope you have as much fun at this park as we did when we were planting the cache. It's a visit that you won't regret.
