Karragarra Island forms one of the four Southern Morteon Bay Islands. It is accessible by ferry (GoCards work!!) however it is the only island without shops. Near the western end (right turn at the end of the ferry terminal) is a children's play area, BBQs, sandy beach and netted swimming area. It is very popular with day trippers and island families so can be quite busy. However what many do not realise is that there is another neat little playground area in a park a short walk away which is situated in beautifully maintained gardens.
Heading left from the ferry terminal GZ is not too far after you pass the helicopter landing zone but if you pass the fire station you have gone too far.
The cache is a screw lid bottle and placed here to mark my NZ cousin's son Zak's first family visit to Oz and introduction to geocaching. Alas there were far too few to find on the islands so we thought we'd add another for future adventures.
To get the cache started is a plastic slinky, dog bone (for FTF geo-doggie) and a McDonald House pen. Also logbook (spiral notebook and pencil)
In summer mosquitoes will be present (unless there is a strong breeze blowing) so I suggest packing the personnel insect repellent and using it liberally!
