We were exploring the Yarranjerry State Forest for interesting features. As we drove in the direction we intended to go, we came across some small signs giving directions to a picnic area. It turns out it led us on the path we had already chosen.
The picnic area is at a small dam with what looks to be an intermittent 'swamp' nearby. There is car parking either side of the dam and a small picnic table that someone has put on the dam bank. I don't know how often this area is used, but it does have a forgotten 'ghost-town' feel about it.
Reminder: Please watch for other traffic and keep to formed roads. There may be a signficant amount of water at this location at times, so please be waterwise. Unlike National Parks, Dogs are allowed in state forests.
The cache is a short walk from the dam. Note: due to the heavy tree cover, GPS accuracy will be low, so look for the most obvious spot in that vicinity.
