The Coppermine Loop track is an excellent introduction to tramping in the Ruahine Ranges.
The Coppermine Loop track is a 3 hour “mini-tramp” which has it all – stream crossings, a climb, delightful bush and to finish, extensive views over farmland as you descend back to the Coppermine Creek car park. Start by walking for about 30 minutes up the regular Coppermine Creek track. Cross the creek at the signposted junction (see waypoint) and then start the climb. Follow the well marked loop track back to the car park.
