Mary Throsby Circuit (Barford, Battams )

27th June 1923 to 28th February 2023

Allan Kennedy Battams

24th September 1933 to 16th August 2014

Both fondly remembered by JJJJML

Mary Married Jack Barford (1921 -1990) 23 June 1945 and divorced 13 May 1980

Jack is the Great grandfather of our little geo clan.

Mary met Allan in 1979 and Married 1981

They built a lovely home in Main St. Pine Point where many a good time was spent by all the kids, grandkids and even some great grandkids. Together they travelled all over Australia, first with a kombi that kept breaking down, then a number of campers and caravans. On one of these trips Allan and Mary came to this very spot.

Allan and Mary came to live in the Whitsundays in 2008.

It was here at Cathu that they wished his ashes to be cast.

Allen's ashes were cast here in the creek in September 2014 (when this cache was first placed).

Mary's ashers joined Allan's in September 2023.

Be sure to check out the view from the top of the range.

There is good camping just a short distance along the road.
