In August 2013, Mid-Western Regional Council called for tenders to design and construct the Cudgegong Footbridge to link a cycleway/walkway and the Glen Willow Sporting Complex to the township of Mudgee.
On 19 June 2014, approximately 100 local residents attended the official opening of the bridge, a suspension bridge, which now completes a lovely walkway along the banks of the Cudgegong River.
I decided to take a look for myself and just happened to have an ammo can with me in the chance that I might be able to find a suitable hiding spot. You can feel the bridge deck girders flex up and down on the suspension cables when walking across it. It would be interesting to see what effect a group of joggers would have!
