Forgotten Road (Northland) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Curglaff: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Part of the old Gorge Road was washed out by Cyclone Bola in 1988 and has never been repaired.

Gumboots are a must in winter & if you intend to do the complete trek as it gets boggy in places, but is worth the trip.

If attempting this at night, you will see magnificent glow-worms on the road up to the walk.

Travel to the end of the gravel road, to a wooden barrier, which closes the road to vehicles. Walk through the tree stump to find the 1st cache.
Search for a fishing line to pull up the cache (which is a small tube cammo colours) In the tube lies the location coordinates for the 2nd Cache full of goodies.
