800ml camo-painted Sistema. Please take special care to rehide the cache carefully, particularly in winter when the trees here will lose all their leaves.
So many beautiful areas around Twizel. This is another wee spot that we found, that was very much less crowded than many of the other waterways that we went to. So if you want a wee bit of peace and quiet, head for this place. I suspect there might be the occasional person fishing here but that's about all.
This is an easy 2 minute detour from State Highway 8 between Twizel & Omarama. The turn-off is at approximately S 44 18.196 E 170 04.020. You will see a small sign pointing to Kelland Ponds. No need to make it a 4X4 expedition, although apparently it can be that if you enter the area on a different road!!!!
We re-released our Polar Bear TB here, within sight of a few small patches of snow far away on the mountain tops!
