Cache is about half-way up this very distinctive mountain.
This former cattle farm was purchased by NPWS, because part of the farm backs onto the Main Range national park. They have retained a portion of the park as a working cattle farm. Camping grounds and picnic areas have been created, along with quite an interesting display in a hut.
From near the cache location you will get very good views of Glen Rock, the Blackfellow Creek Valley and Mt Machar on the opposite side of the valley. You will also have some other quite splendid views on the way, so don't forget your camera. For the adventurous who want to tackle the peak, the cache location is at a good spot to pause and catch your breath, as the path levels out a bit here.
The hike to the cache is quite steep in places, with an overall climb of about 200m from the carpark on a clearly defined fire-break/trail. The cache is about 10m from this trail. Sometimes the start of the trail gets a bit overgrown and can't be easily spotted, so I have provided a couple of waypoints to help you pick up the trail if that is the case.
