Geocache Description:

Welcome to Batemans Bay main storage dam.

A nice quick cache near the observation area of Deep Creek Dam. This dam is a 4900 ML capacity dam that draws it's water from three mountain fed rivers, the Buckenboura, the Deua and the Tuross. Deep Creek Dam is maintained as a drought or emergency storage system should the rivers become unavailable for pumping due to water quality or environmental flow constraints. The cache has a locked gate from the highway after dark but there is always more than one way into a geocache... Enjoy the view!
