Parking: DO NOT park on the curb. This is the capitol district and curbside parking is STRICTLY enforced. Metered parking at the Hawaii Department of Health on Punchbowl and Beretania St or along Richards St.
Total Distance Traveled: Less than one mile .
Estimated amount of time to complete: Less than one hour.
Amenities: During business hours, a drinking fountain and a restroom can be found inside the DOH.

This cache and the memorial it is hidden near are a tribute to all the people from Hawaii that have so bravely served our country in the Armed Forces. While our state has some very significant war memorials, this is Hawaii's own tribute to the individuals from past and present, who have given of themselves to protect us.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: As you approach the monument and cache, at 11:00 you will see the entrance to the governor's mansion. There is a guard positioned there 24/7. Please do not do things that will cause them to become suspicious. You need not venture into the landscaping or areas that you are not supposed to be in to find this cache.

UPDATE 1-4-16. Who would have thought a cache hidden in plain sight would be found over 850 times and lasted 10 years!! Our thanks go out to everyone that managed to not be noticed by a muggle finding this cache. Lately, we have been noticing a lot of reports of trash and homeless people in this area. This is a VERY busy area and literally hundreds of people pass through here weekly. This would explain the fluctuation in the general area condition in the logs. There is never enough resources in Hawaii to handle the impact we have from the millions of visitors we get each year. We'd like to humbly ask a favor of the seekers of this cache and request that you come ready to do a 5-10 minute CITO instead of posting complaints about it. Let's all do our part to promote Geocaching in a positive light!
