This cache is located in Minnewaska State Park. On weekends you must get there early, like before 10:00am or you may have to wait a while. It will take you at least five hours to get to the cache and back so plan wisely. The terrain is not all that difficult but can be dangerous near the cliff edges and cracks. The best place to start is the Lake Minnewaska parking lot on rt.55. It will cost seven dollars per car load to enter the park.
The cache is a clear peanut butter jar with a red lid. It contains a log book and pencil, a carrabiner, Vipers custom keychain, a bottle of bug juice if you need it, and other small trinkets. If you want to trade something be sure it will fit in a peanut butter jar. You can ride a bike about halfway, but you will have to lock it up and leave it for a few hours so you will have to make the call on that one(I did). The cache is under a rock in a crack. You do not have to do anything crazy to find this cache. Be very careful and stay on the trail or bare rock.
This has got to be one of the coolest places in New York.
If you haven't been to Minnewaska you will surely be impressed. Follow the rules and have fun, Peteygo
